What is Pilates?

 

Pilates is a low impact exercise programme that works on the whole body.  The slow, controlled movements combine suppleness and strength, lengthening your muscles, improving posture, creating a healthy back and a calm mind.

Pilates is popular with people of all ages and levels of fitness.  It is named after its inventor Joseph Pilates who formulated the exercises in 1920’s based around a programme of 34 original movements.
